The Same Old Song

I try to figure why

My brother sells canes

To survive in these times, I don’t know who to blame

Complain to media light

They’re the reason I might

Just start a revolution

Know the devil’s recruiting

They got us overseas

Fighting people that bleed,

The same color as your brother, but we’re too blind to see

We’re very much the same, despite what you believe

I know we can make a change

But it’s the same old song

Now if we took a little time

Swallowed all our pride,

We can fix the situation

But it’s the same old song

Now if we took a look inside

Took a little time

We can stop killing each other

But it’s the same old song,

The same old song

I sit back in a daze

I swear the world is insane

Get so high, I can fly, but I’d rather escape

I find my oasis

In the most exotic places

Wish I got a solution

To these problems we’re facing

They got us overseas

Killing people that bleed,

The same color as your brother, but we’re too blind to see

We’re very much the same, despite what you believe

I know we can make a change

But it’s the same old song

It’s the same old song

if they come for us, we'll hide in my jar

i remember how transient life is

and why it is important to love

that is why i must admit

i have a love affair with MaryJane

so much on my mind that it spills outside

it’s hard to say what’s on my mind

because words are always one step behind

self revelations and illusive sensations

unattended, only for a minute

i’ll be out of this place

as soon as you tell me where the night is

and if they come for us,

we’ll hide in my jar

this could be beautiful

(it is)

swimming through my veins, she tries to explain

the sound of yesterday’s trains, and cinder remains

a dimension that warrants close attention

a new generation of love, where everything is beautiful

everything is magical, everything is lovely

we are exhausted from flames of light

we can laugh and dance in the sun

and fly away in the changing wind

fly high high high high

coughed out my heart in the last stall

pulsating cars and vibrating stars

entertain your childhood friends

with a tour of the ship, we sail today

we’ll lose our minds along the way

but that is quite alright

every walk we take is like a walk in the park

every lighter we ignite is like a dance in the dark

we will lose our perceptions of our days

we will lose our chains and wayward ways

with a tinted heart and a pocket of smells

past lives mean nothing

nothing’s going to change

it could be the time we’re living in

we’ll never be so young again

God Bless America

God bless America
God bless this nation of fallen heroes
Fallen to theocracy and plutocracy
Fallen to fear and deceit

God bless America
Land of the free, land of the brave
Land of those who walk boldly to their grave
Emotional, spiritual, intellectual graves
Bodies piling in the dumpster
Your god is an animator
Matter + antimatter

God bless America
Nation of those afraid to think, afraid to feel
Afraid to speak, ignore outcomes so bleak

God bless America
Nation of warrior sons and warrior guns
Nation of thievery and a million imaginary suns
Nation of voices hoarse and unyielding force

God fuck America
Governments put monkeys on a pedestal
A notion so central
To the running of this great country

Oh great America,
Land of the brave and land of the free
I see right through thee
You will never get me
You will never get to me

Oh America
You are a scathing critic of all things vile
While destroying humanity in your backyard
Breaking the spirit, building the nation,
Oh what a titillating sensation
To be free of greed, corruption and debt,
But not you America, never you.

God fuck America
Nation of the righteous
Land of the holy
A modern day promised land
A modern day Babylon
America you are breaking my heart
You are a tease
You still fuck like a tease

Let’s talk shit, America.
Let’s talk shit.
